The meaning of the emphatic particle eva mostly determined by the context, and include such common possibilities:

only; just; merely; exclusively; exactly

tasmiṃ eva āsane - in that very seat; in that exact seat
even; too; as well

dissanti ca eva suyyanti ca - is seen as well as heard
as soon as (less common)

disvā eva … - as soon as having seen …
