Cone s.v. āha, āhu gives āhu as a singular form: "perf. 3. sg. (perf expressing present, past and indefinite time) says, speaks; tells; said, spoke; speaks about; calls, regards as)". Instead CPD and Oberlies 2019 II s.v. list āhu as 3.pl.
A different derivation is suggested by Cone s.v.: "imperf. of pa5 + ✓vac;? or aor. of pa5 + avati2;?", but seems to be uncertain.
Slightly different is Cone: "putting an end to; destruction"
Alternatively, this could be interpreted as a periphrastic future inherited from Sanskrit: "They will say to him."
Lokaṁ avekkhantaṁ is object in the acc. for passati, which seems almost untranslatable in English.
