The syntax of the sentence is a little tricky. The (content of the) ti-clause is the grammatical subject for the ptp, which stands in the position of the predicate. The logical subject or agent is pabbajita in the instr.

Cf. Māgadhabhāsā, p. 128: "The future passive participle can also function as a verb, with the same syntactical function as a finite verb (Oberlies, 2019: 571, f.n. 1); in fact, as "a rule it is employed as a sentence verb," perhaps there being "a tendency to use tabba with the gerundive [i.e. future passive participle] functioning as sentence verb and anīya in other cases" (Hendriksen, 1944: 11–2)."

The DPD understands an adj. rūpa, which I have not seen elsewhere. PED and MW take rūpa here ifc. Cf. PED and MW s.v. The adjectival function of the compound is due to the bahubbīhi.

MW: "rūpa n. (perhaps connected with varpa, varpas; ifc. f.(ā), rarely (ī)) any outward appearance or phenomenon or colour (often pl.), form, shape, figure, RV. \&c. \&c. (rūpeṇa ifc. in the form of ; rūpam-√kṛ or √bhū, to assume a form; often ifc. = 'having the form or appearance or colour of', 'formed or composed of', 'consisting of', 'like to'; sometimes used after an adj. or p.p. to emphasize its meaning or almost redundantly cf. ghora-r°; or connected with a verb, e.g. pacati-rūpam, he cooks very well cf. Pāṇ. viii, 1, 57)"
